A very busy weekend – 17-18th September 2016

I may have few extra results to add, but provisional results from the weekend.  Great effort from everyone in Sydney and Mexico. Very hot conditions in Mexico made the run off the bike very hard. Perfect running conditions in Sydney for the Blackmores running festival. Great seeing the 70.3 guys running well on very tired legs.

Batchelor, Phillippa 9th Swim – 34:08 Bike – 3:07:36 Run – 1:48:32 Total – 5:40:22

Ironman 70.3 World Champs – Sunny Coast

Some great results on the Sunny Coast, with Meg and Paula flying in from the UK and Paula riding her TT bike for the first time in 3 months making it tough. Jimmy pulls a blinder and word is that Ange only talked through 74.8% of the race. JA had a solid race with a solid bike as usual. Well done chaps!

Team Lockwood – Glenn & Belinda had a solid race in the Tarawera Ultramarathon and come home in a solid 12.41.02. for 7th in cat.  Well done guys!  Chris Quirk took on a double header with the hilly 10km Sunrun on Saturday, then backup up with Kurnell Sprint on Sunday, with PB’s for Mat, Maarten and Kate. While Jimmy, Lisa and Ange had great races in Geelong 70.3 with Ange 4th good enough for a roll down for 70.3 world champs!!!

Well done all.

Race Results Feb

Another busy weekend with Ocean swims to half distance Triathlons.  Still waiting for the Canberra Olympic results, but in the mean time here we go with the weekends results.

Well done to everyone that raced and some great performances.

Mat Myers has a fantastic performance and gets 1st place in 40-44 age group, for his first age group win, with Maarten close on his heals and misses 3rd in the same cat by 14 seconds.  Return to racing for a few so a great start to the year.

Callala Beach, Kurnell Sprint, Canberra Triple Edge

Lots of racing on this weekend and lots of fantastic performances, with Lisa taking out the Long Course event at Canberra and Jay and Mat going head to head with a 10 minute handicap over the 1/30/8k distance race, while Glenn Lockwood pulls a 3.52 in Canberra for the marathon.

Both Danny and Seb get PB’s with 39.08 and 41.04 over the 25km TT course.

Western Sydney 70.3 – 29th November 2015

More great racing this weekend, in much better conditions than last year.  Swim was slower, but bike and run should have been a touch quicker due to temp hitting a peak 29 degrees, last year close to 40. Also Wind was down on the bike.  Great races all round.

Western Sydney 70.3

Husky 1 22nd November 2015

Moore fantastic results this weekend in Husky, with Mat being first over the line for MP in the Standard Distance, closely followed by Rich and Zoe.  Amanda picks up her first 1st Cat. position, while G continues his improvement with a very solid 25th overall.  Well done to everyone.

Also well done to everyone who took on the Splash and Dash, some very raised Heart Rates running through that “quick”sand.

Wyong Triathlon – Sprint and Olympic

Unfortunately the course had to be cut short due to the heavy rain and with a slightly short swim course we were looking at PBs for everyone.  Poor Nick Harrington is 4th overall, yet only gets 3rd in Cat. Ange DQ’d after missing a lap of the bike, but running a min quicker than the fastest female would have had her fighting for first place without doubt.  Special mentions to Dave Neville doing the race old school, no wetsuit, then on his Hybrid bike and racing in speedo’s.  Also Antony who stopped for 20 mins on the run to help a poor chap who was T-boned by a car who was in a very very bad way.  Our Young Jedi’s Jess and Juls had great days and performed really well!

Great event by Elite Energy and will be back next year.
